Here is our story:
I first used a pressure washer in 1976, at a time when most people didn't even know what a pressure washer was. I was very intrigued and amazed. For eight years, from high school through college I worked part time with high pressure pumping systems. After seeing what was available in the washer market place, I knew it could be designed better. In 1985 my dream became the vision for the future of Hydro Tek. I commenced production with one employee in a 1200 square foot warehouse, selling my product locally in Southern California. I learned quickly that focusing on quality and reliability was the key to manufacturing success and customer satisfaction. Although sales and marketing of a product can be the most difficult aspect of starting a business, I found that the quality and aesthetics made sales and marketing of the product much easier.
In 1987 Hydro Tek became incorporated and we moved to a 6000 square foot warehouse. We began to gain market share in Northern California and the western states through distributors. Our innovative trailer units and durable stainless steel design met the demanding needs of contract cleaners and heavy construction users. Sales began to increase rapidly. I began to handpick managers with the same vision of quality and customer service that I had found to be so important in the early days. In 1989 we established distributors in the remainder of the country and began marketing nationwide.
In 1991 we moved to a new 20,000 square foot building to meet the demands of our distributors. The latest computer aided drafting system was installed along with engineering systems to enable us to develop new products, constantly improve the existing product line, and design more efficient methods of production.
By the end of 1997, we had "embraced" technology with a full network of computers that extend all the way to our shop floor and implemented the most advanced laser and other CNC manufacturing machinery to give you all the quality, innovation, and reliability you deserve.
In 2001, we fully implemented the latest manufacturing techniques such as demand flow processing and cellular-lean manufacturing to achieve "world class" standards ensuring quality control and rapid delivery. These changes have increased our efficiency so in addition to delivering a superior product we can also deliver better value. To ensure your safety we have completed certification to UL1776 and have also engineered additional safety devices to protect you beyond industry standards.
